If so, then you must know that Disney Plus Cat Noir or the Gloob Cat Noir and the rest of the characters of the Miraculous: tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir lives in a world created by Thomas Astruc called The Quantic Universe. All the heroes here get their powers from a kwami, which is a living magical  creature. They have to wear a special wearable to take power from their kwamis ​​and after that they can transfer the powers of their kwamis ​​to it. Cat Noir also gets all his powers from his kwami called ​​Plagg in the same way. 



The Cat Miraculous, also known as the Black Cat Miraculous, is a ring that, whenever Plagg inhabits it, transforms the wearer into a black cat-themed superhero with the power of Destruction.

Current Cat Noir Miraculous Holder : Adrien Agreste


Adrien Agreste : 

Adrien Agreste is the second main character of the series, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. He is a student in Miss Bustier's class at Collège Françoise Dupont in Paris, France. Adrien's father is a model desiger and Adrien is a fashion model for his father's brand. Adrien likes basketball, fencing, piano, and Chinese lessons. Adrien can speak Chinese fluently and also quite good at video games. In addition Adrien also has a secret that he is the holder of the Miraculous of distruction: the Cat Noir miraculous, which help Adrien to get the powers of Cat Noir. With the help of his kwami Plagg, he transforms into Cat Noir to save Paris with Ladybug from Hawk-Moth's evil plan. He is the second-in-command of the Miraculous superhero team.


Purpose :

Cat Noir's purpose is to protect Paris from the evil plans of the super villian Hawk Moth, who can give powers to sad and angry peoples to transform into supervillains.


Physical appearance of Cat Noir:

Cat Noir wears a black leather suit with a golden bell on his chest. He has a long belt that looks like a his's tail, gloves with claws on the fingertips, and black color boots. Cat Noir has 2 cat like ears and a black mask covering a part of his face. His eyes are green and look cat-like eyes. His hair is messier and untamed, covering his normal ears. His ring turns black and gains 5 green paw print in the circle. In general, the ring is black with a circle surface. In charged mode, a glowing green cat paw print appears in the circle. If holder used the super power(Cataclysm) of the miraculous, the ring starts running out of power and start a beeping sound. After that, each toe of the paw print on the ring will starts disappear one by one, which is an indication of how much power and time (one toe is equivalent to one minute) the holder have left to detransform. This happens until the ring turns completely empty of toe.

Physical appearance of Cat Noir's Ring :

The Cat Noir Miraculous is a black ring that, transform the wearer into a cat-themed superhero with the power of Destruction. In Plagg's case, To activate the powers of the ring, the wearer must speak the transformation magical word: "Claws Out". To deactivate the powers of earrings, the wearer must speak the detransformation magical word: "Claws In". This Cat Noir's ring is currently owned by Adrien Agreste, who uses them to transform into Cat Noir and save his universe with Ladybug from the evil force of super villain Hawk-Moth.


How did Adrien Agreste gets his Miraculous :

Adrien Agreste has been homeschooled for most of his life but one day he decides to start attend his class at school. At that day, when he heading toward school's entrance, Adrien notices an old man who need help to cross the road. But that old man was none other than Master Fu, the guardian of the Miraculous box. Adrien was don't know about Master Fu at that time and this has been just a test to know about the person, who would deserve to become a superhero. Because of Adrien's kindness, Master Fu decides to give Cat Noir's ring, the Cat Miraculous to Adrien. When Adrien open the miraculous box that contains the ring, a flying black cat-like creature appears in front of Adrien and presents himself as a kwami named Plagg; he tells Adrien that, kwamis are a magical being and grant super powers to its miraculous holder. After that, Adrien use that ring to transform into a cat themed superhero with the help of Plagg's powers.


Who are the person know Adrien's Cat Noir identity :

In the Current timeline, actually no one know about Adrien's true identity, no one know about that Adrien is Cat Noir(Chat Noir). But if we think about erased timeline, there are some persons know about Adrien's true identity like we seen in gloobs Miraculous Ladybug season 4 episode "Ephemeral" that Adrien revealed his true identity in front of Ladybug while Ladybug is talking with Viperion(Luka), hence Luka also finds that Adrien is Cat Noir. Also in Netflix Miraculous Ladybug Season 3 Oblivio episode, Marinette & Adrien Reveal Their Identities to each other. Also in Cat Blanc episode, we seen that Adrien revealed his identity as Cat noir to Marinette while Natalie watching him. In direct, Marinette, Luka, Gabriel Agreste and Natalie was know about Adrien's true identity from different timeline. 


Cat Noir and His Abilities: 

The Cat Noir Miraculous is able to give access to its owner incredible powers of strength, speed, endurance and make him near-invulnerable. As a cat, Cat Noir also have the power of night vision. Cat Noir is fast enough to beat a panther and capable of running at between 45-55 mph. Cat Noir's special weapon is an unbreakable "extendable staff", which can be used as a weapon and as a communicator like mobile device to communicate with other super heroes. Cat Noir's special and unique superpower is called the "Cataclysm", which grants the ability to Cat Noir to damage or destroy an object, such as structures, akumas' hiding places, metal bars or anything the user want. Until the super power of Cat Noir is activated and used, the CatNoir Miraculous holder can remain Cat Noir indefinitely. However, as soon as the superpower is activated and used, the Cat Noir Miraculous holder start loosing powers and his/her transformed form wears off in about approximately five minutes. The Cat Noir's ring also have the ability to give the its user the  costume they truly desire.


Extendable Staff : If we talk about Cat Noir's extendable staff, apart from the above mentioned powers, there are many other powers which have not been reveled yet but one of these powers is that, this extendable staff is nearly unbreakable and can be extended to unlimited length. Cat Noir can also split it in half or changes its length to use it as a sword, staff, bridge, vaulting pole, or  javelin. Cat Noir's staff can also work as a blockade to stop something from moving or slowing down. This staff can also used as an object that can be used to breathe underwater like an oxygen mask. 


Cataclysm : The other power of the Cat Noir's Miraculous is Cataclysm. This superpower allows the miraculous user to destroy whatever they touch. When user activate this super power, a dark and destructive energy creates on his hand and whatever the miraculous user touch with that hand will be severely negatively affected. A Cat Noir's Cataclysm is able to do following things:

  • The power of Cataclysm can make Solid materials corrode, dissolve, break and become easily breakable, depending on the material. The power of Cataclysm can make technology malfunctions for robots or machines.
  • The power of Cataclysm can be evaporate Liquids and change its form.
  • The power of Cataclysm can destroy Living things including akumas (as seen in "Cat Blanc" episode)
  • The power of Cataclysm wouldn't be destroy Sentimonsters but they would be severely injured.
  • The power of Cataclysm wouldn't be destroy The Cat Miraculous holder and other Miraculous holders but would be severely injured.
  • The power of Cataclysm wouldn't be destroy Akumatized villains but would be severely injured.
  • The power of Cataclysm can even destroy indestructible objects like Miraculous tools and Miraculouses.


If the Ladybug Miraculous and Cat Noir Miraculous are used together while also using a special invocation, the user of both miraculous will achieve ultimate power. This  united power can give the person to make a wish that can alter reality. However, because the universe must maintain balance, every action has a reaction; for instance, a wish to become human would result in someone losing their humanity. The Ladybug miraculous and the Cat miraculous are  more powerful than the rest of the Miraculouses.


Power Ups :

After Plagg consumes one of several special potions, or eatable made with one and when the Miraculous holder transforms into Cat Noir, they are able to unlock power-ups, an additional specific ability and super power is granted by each and every unique potion. So far, only seven potions have been discovered and shown yet in the Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, each with a unique color with unique powers. All of them are not used yet in the episode but soon we are going to see all of them used by Marinette in upcoming episodes.  


The green potion transforms Plagg into "Aqua-Plagg" which grants his holder extra powers and the ability to breath underwater and improve their swimming capability with flippers added on the feet. In this mode or power, the miraculous holder's suit gains fish-like features such as flippers, fins, and a scale-like pattern on the suit itself.

The light blue potion transforms Plagg into "Plagg Glacier" which grants his the holder ice-related abilities, and the suit gains a pair of skates to move freely on ice.

The purple potion transforms Plagg into unknown space forms and grants his holder the ability to move freely and breathe in high altitudes and space. In this mode or power, the holder's suit gains spacesuit-like plating, a jetpack with retractable wings, and a helmet that provides breathable air.

A red potion that grants unknown powers which is not reveled yet.

A yellow potion that grants unknown powers which is not reveled yet.

An orange potion that grants unknown powers which is not reveled yet.

A pink-peach potion that grants unknown powers which is not reveled yet.


Hybrid Forms of Cat Noir :

If we look like this, there are many hybrid forms and power ups of Cat Noir. Like:

Cat Noir miraculous holder can transform into a hybrid Cat Noir by combine two or more miraculouses together. This hybrid form can provide him different powers and abilities, which will be more powerful than normal Cat Noir, like MultiNoir, SnakeNoir, shadowNoir and a unknown form of tikki and plagg. 


Unknown : In first picture of Miraculous and Ephemeral episode of Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, we seen that there is a combined or unified powers of Ladybug Miraculous and Cat Noir Miraculous which name is unknown yet. This power can be use to get the Ultimate Miraculous Absolute Power. This power is able to fulfill a wish of this user.


MultiNoir : In "Kwamibuster" episode, we saw Mullo(mouse miraculous) and Plagg(cat miraculous)'s Unified powers called the MultiNoir. To achive this power, the user of these miraculous used to fuse the miraculouses of the Mouse and Cat. 


SnakeNoir : In "Miracle Queen" episode, we see Plagg(cat Miraculous) and Sass(snake miraulous)'s unified powers called the SnakeNoir. To achive this power, the user of these miraculous used to fuse the miraculouses of the Snake and Cat. Snake Noir has the powers of both cat's Cataclysm and snake's Second Chance, which he uses to attack and read his opponents' movements in battle, respectively. Snakenoir looks like Aspike. In this form, he has much more enhanced skills, such as speed, agility, and strength, and he is almost invulnerable to physical damage. Like a mixed of snake and cat, he also has enhanced senses like hearing and smell as well as infrared vision with night vision.


ShadowNoir : In "Ephemeral" episode of Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, we seen that there is a combined or unified powers of Butterfly Miraculous, Peacock Miraculous and Cat Noir Miraculous called ShadowNoir. Except his eyes, Shadow Noir wears a black bodysuit, showing his muscular build, with grey accents that covers his entire body including his head. Shadow Noir has the abilities of both the Butterfly, Peacock and Cat Miraculous. In this form the user has the ability to create akumatized champions along with sentimonsters as their allies, as well as the user can use the power of Cataclysm.


All this proves that the Cat Noir's strength and abilities can be unlimited if he is transformed into a hybrid form. At the same time, if he also uses power ups, then no one can beat Cat Noir. With this, Cat Noir miraculous becomes one of the most powerful Miraculous in the Quantic Universe. If we talk about the normal form, in which there is no hybrid form and no power ups, then cat Noir can be defeated easily in this form. Many times we have got to see this in episodes as well. For this, the enemy of Cat Noir will have to fail the Cataclysm. After that he will automatically detransform in civilian form.
